Our IPA brewed with Northwest American hops prominently featuring Chinook! A pungent aroma gives way to a delicate beer saturated with hop flavor. Soft notes of grapefruit, sweet orange, pineapple, and young mango give way to a softly resinous finish making this one hard to put down. We find Sap to be one of our most complex and intricate IPAs - We love it dearly!
Sap is one of the very first Tree House beers. It originated around Christmas in 2011 and was originally brewed and named with the feel and spirit of the season in mind. The name is a little unfortunate because the term sap may lead your expectations and senses astray, as pine tree sap has just small threads in common with the flavor profile of this beer. As we have grown as a brewery, we have learned that hops like Chinook can give primarily harsh resinous & piney notes when they are older, poorly selected, or improperly stored. Over time Sap has improved immensely as a function of a refined process and careful selection of ingredients. Sap's recipe has evolved very little. The Chinook selected here is fresh, vibrant, citrusy, and expressive in a way that puts it on par with many of the modern Hop Breeding Company hops like Citra & Mosaic. A hint of pine embraces the palate at the end of the sip, and entices the senses to drink more. Sap is perhaps our most distinctive and expressive single IPA's.
As a live beer made with hand selected fresh hop varieties, we kindly ask that you keep Sap cold at all times and enjoy it fresh for the best experience.
