Dear Washington is a wet-hopped American IPA brewed with Citra and Amarillo hops harvested from the fields of Washington and shipped directly to our brewery in less than twenty-four hours. These hops are immediately utilized in the brew before any oxidation has a chance to set in, thus imparting the most raw and expressive hop character possible in the beer.
It is brewed in a way not typical of a wet hop beer, eschewing overly resinous, leafy hop character in favor of gentle, well-integrated hop notes and soft lupulin character.
Dear Washington pours a glowing orange color in the glass and emits flavors and aromas of tangerine juice and grapefruit. A soft malt body provides heft, with minimal bitterness or leafy hop presence making it exceptionally pleasant to drink. In the words of Matty Blais on the packaging line, “it’s a glider”.
Hop harvest and selection is an inspiring experience for us at Tree House, and Dear Washington earnestly intends to honor the tremendous hard work and infrastructure required to bring us the hops we so desperately crave, and to bring you, the drinker, along for the yearly ride to Yakima nestled in the sun-drenched plains of Washington State - a place where the smell of lupulin fills the air and trucks full of vines frantically zig-zag in every direction like clockwork each September.
Enjoy, and drink fresh.
