This page was created as a simple alphabetical archive of every Tree House beer ever brewed.  Descriptions were pulled from historical ON-TAP pages. Some descriptions were lost in space and in their place is a brief description of what was, and what may very well may be again. . . A work in progress. .  . ENJOY!

AFTERMATH (Russian Imperial Stout - 9.0 % ABV)  This massive beer pours a mean, thick oil-like black and lets out huge aromas of molasses, dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee as it prepares to assault your palate with vicious, satisfying flavors.  At 9% alcohol, this one is not for the faint of heart.  For the uninitiated, it might be safer to start with it’s younger brother, “That’s What She Said”.  For the initiated, there’s no other way.

ALTER EGO (American IPA - 6.8%) - What we did here is we took a whole bunch of Mosaic and Amarillo hops, a classic punch of citrus purveying goodness, and added them to the Julius dry hop. The base beer is exactly the same, but the dry hop is altered tremendously.  The result is a beer with all the deliciousness of the base with a pungent additional layer of citrusy complexity.  Soft velvety hop juice -  we call it Devil Julius. A real treat!  

AWESOME AUTUMN ALE (Spiced Beer - 8.9% ABV) - We're excited to release the first of two batches of this year's Autumn Ale!  Deep orange in color via an assortment of English Malts and gently hopped with spicy noble varieties, this beer is an ideal accompaniment to cooler New England weather.  The restrained addition of traditional spice adds an extra dynamic, as does the two weeks of aging on Madagascar Vanilla Beans.

BEAR (American Brown Ale - 6.4%) - Bear is Tree House brewer Brendan’s recipe and his first scaled commercial beer. It has all the characteristics of a classic English Brown Ale with a distinct American twist.  Bear pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a sticky caramel colored head.  Aromas of toffee, caramel, chocolate, and earthy hops prep the palate for the wonderful flavor to come.  We taste toffee, brown bread, caramel candy, varied nuttiness, and a melange of dark fruit. The earthy hops dance throughout and are balanced beautifully by a brown sugar sweetness.  Delicious. Bear is one of the best food beers we have ever had - it pairs brilliantly with nearly everything… including nothing!  A lovely and unique example of a brown ale.  Brewed in honor of those who leave a lasting and influential impression on our lives.

BENEFICIARIES OF CHANCE - (American Pale Ale - 5.3%) - A beer brewed to celebrate the end of summer and the good fortune of finding love! Beneficiaries of Chance is a soft, citric, glowing yellow American Pale Ale brewed with a collection of American and Southern Hemisphere hops. We taste papaya, grapefruit, mango, melon, concentrated hop oil, and a bit of earthy spice buoyed by a tremendously soft mouthfeel.  A joyful little beer we find to be worthy of its sentiment!

CURIOSITY ONE (American Pale Ale 5.4% ABV)  -The first in what we intend to be a long line of beers exploring ideas and uniting flavors in new and interesting ways.  This beer features just two hop varieties - Centennial and Simcoe - which were used to excess both late in the boil and during the cold-hopping process.  The inclusion of Flaked Oats rounds out this well-rounded pale yellow ale with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.  Pale, hoppy bliss.  And SUPER FRESH!  

CURIOSITY TWO (Double IPA - 9.2% ABV) The second installment in the Tree House Curiosity Series.  This Double IPA is brewed with a very simple pale malt bill and a hint of simple sugars to produce a dry beer that showcases the generous addition of five American hop varieties utilized at every stage of the brewing process.  After resting on two rounds of dry hops, "Curiosity Two" has emerged as a dangerously drinkable, superbly aromatic, tropical fruit purveyin' joy of a beer.

CURIOSITY THREE (American Pale Ale - 5.4% ABV) - The third installment of our "Curiosity" Series!  Brewed almost entirely with Amarillo hops, this American Pale Ale is extremely pungent, with notes of tangerine, pineapple, and orange.  It finishes with a strong, clean citric bitterness.  Dry, soft, and supremely refreshing.  A new personal favorite of ours...!

CURIOSITY FOUR (Double IPA - 8.2% ABV) - The fourth beer in our Curiosity Series -  an exploration of flavors and ideas that may or may not fall within typical stylistic guidelines of beer.  It’s Tree House’s version of a young kid who gets his or her hands on a World Almanac or looks up at the sky and ponders his or her place for the first time.  It’s questioning the status quo.  It’s born from the childlike desire to discover new and interesting things that stoke the creative spirit.  In this installment, we have dosed nearly 5 lbs / bbl of American hops into a highly attenuative wort to produce a hop forward, supremely drinkable Imperial Pale Ale.  A complex and aromatic nose gives way to the taste of grapefruit and citrus punctuated by the addition of fresh squeezed Star Ruby juice.  We could live inside the glass.

CURIOSITY FIVE (Double IPA - 8.4% ABV) - We’re excited to release the fifth installment of the Curiosity Series, aptly named Curiosity Five! In short, this beer in an imperial mash up of the Julius and Green recipes.  The result is a beer that literally makes us giddy with excitement.   It is perhaps the most fruit forward beer we have ever brewed while maintaining an extremely gentle palate.  Absolutely delicious!

CURIOSITY SEVEN (American IPA - 7% ABV) - We’re excited to release the seventh installment of the Curiosity Series, aptly named Curiosity Seven! We used a very simple malt bill to produce a glowing yellow beer seasoned appropriately with our favorite American, New Zealand, and Australian Hops!  We taste strong flavors of sweet tropical fruit balanced by a punch of more acidic citrus fruit. A dry finish melds with a burst of lime to finish things out. She’s just big enough to pack a serious hop punch but just small enough to be supremely drinkable.  What can we say? We love the Curiosity beers!

CURIOSITY TEN (Double IPA - 8.1% ABV) - The tenth installment of our Curiosity Series, which began back in Brimfield back in March of 2013, is a gorgeous Double IPA completely saturated with hops.  An imperial mash-up of Curiosity Six, Curiosity Nine, and Julius, Ten is one of the juiciest beers we’ve made. The aroma and flavor is filled with notes of orange juice and orange rind balanced by a pungent earthy dankness.  Grapefruit, mango, and papaya also compete for your tastebudswhile a soft mouthfeel and proper dryness make it a pleasure to drink!  Ten!!

CURIOSITY ELEVEN (American IPA - 7.8% ABV) - So.. we didn't stop at Ten! Curiosity Eleven continues the exploration of different hop combinations, grain blends, and process tweaks to arrive at something that is sometimes planned and sometimes completely surprising. For this blend, we added a healthy dose of Vienna to the grist to support massive additions of Amarillo (quickly becoming our favorite accent hop) and Mosaic. It drinks juicy, like biting into a clementine, and finishes dank with a proper soft balancing bitterness. Completely and utterly dangerous at 7.8% ABV... Our curiosity continues...!        

DOUBLE SHOT - 3rd Anniversary Blend (American Stout - 8.2% ABV) - In the year since it was born, Double Shot has earned a reputation around the brewery as one of our proudest accomplishments. We have learned a ton about the base beer and how it interacts with our favorite coffees. The 3rd Anniversary Blend is a culmination of those efforts!  We brewed a bigger base beer than ever to support the addition of Guatemala Finca El Injerto, Hair Bender, and Sumatra Mandheling.  The result is a rich and complex coffee beer with flavors and aromas of chocolate covered espresso beans, molasses, and brown sugar cookies… Absolutely wonderful!  

DOUBLE SHOT | Sumatra Mandheling (American Stout - 7.8% ABV) - What’s better than one shot of espresso? Two shots of espresso! This edition of our favorite coffee infused stout utilizes buckets of Red Barn Coffee Roaster’s Sumatra Mandheling. The Mandheling’s deep cocoa flavors open up to reveal a richly complex treat.  We taste flavors of , chocolate covered espresso beans, molasses, milk chocolate, and touches of brown sugar.  A pungent & decadent bean for sure! A rich, sweet, and less roasty base beer contributes the ideal backdrop to this bold and vibrant treat for the coffee and beer lover alike!  We find this to be the most intense and potent Double Shot yet.  A true coffee lover’s delight!

DOUBLE SHOT - Verve Panama Elida Estate Natural (American Stout - 7.6%) - What’s better than one shot of espresso? Two shots of espresso! This edition of our favorite coffee infused stout utilizes a boat load of Verve Coffee Roaster’s Panama Elida Estate Natural.  The Estate’s rich soft chocolate flavors open up to reveal a richly complex treat.  We taste intensely satisfying flavors of chocolate cake, brown sugar, and roast caramel.  A rich, sweet, and less roasty base beer contributes the ideal backdrop to this bold and vibrant treat for the coffee and beer lover alike!  This is as close to simply emulating chocolate covered espresso bean as we’ve come.  An immensely pleasurable beverage, indeed!



DIRTY WATER (Blonde Ale - 3.9 ABV) - A blast from Tree House’s past! The first beer we ever brewed on our 5 BBL brewhouse in January of 2013 was Dirty Water.  As we embark on the next phase of the Tree House journey, we thought it would be fitting to revisit our old friend.   We have applied the knowledge gained while brewing hundreds of batches to this old recipe.  Brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Citra hops, it pours a gorgeous yellow and the glass and opens up with a potent citrus aroma.  The flavor is similar - very grapefruit heavy with a touch of soft tangerine. It’s wonderfully drinkable without sacrificing flavor… Sampling this Monday morning, it drinks a lot like a baby Haze.  If you remember Dirty Water, you’ve been with us for a while - and we appreciate that tremendously!  If you haven’t, we hope you enjoy this glimpse into the past!

EUREKA w/Galaxy (American Blonde Ale - 4.1 % ABV) - An elegant showcase for Australian Galaxy hops, this riff on our favorite blonde ale has just the pale malt bill in common with her sister beer, Eureka. Delicate and pleasantly hoppy, with aromatic and flavorful notes of pineapple and citrus, you'll have a hard time believing this one is so sessionable. The first batch with super fresh 2014 Galaxy - super saturated and super delicious!

GOOD MORNING - (Imperial Coffee Stout - 8.4%)  - Brewed with Maxwell Road Maple’s darkest and most flavorful late season maple syrup, Good Morning pours pitch black in the glass with a creamy mousse-like head.  The bubbles give way to genuinely intoxicating aromas of freshly roasted coffee, rich maple syrup, and milk chocolate. The flavor is decadent, melding milk chocolate, sweet maple syrup, and freshly roasted coffee with deeper complexities as it warms.  The crew here at Tree House tastes “chocolate covered maple candy”, “vanilla”, “chocolate cake”, “brown sugar”, “a dark fruit bonanza”, and “fresh roasted coffee”. A super decadent treat, Good Morning begs to be shared and contemplated. We dare you to smell it and not yearn for Sunday morning. . . !

MA (Hoppy Amber Ale - 6.8% ABV) - A special amber ale brewed in remembrance of Nate’s grandmother.  Late last month, Barbara Lanier gave up her ghost and the impact of her time here on Earth will not soon be forgotten by the many who loved her.  A fiery Irish spirit who imparted deep values of dedication to family and love, “Ma” was certainly one of a kind.  This beer mirrors her spirit with sharp, flavorful notes of resin, pine, and citrus, backed up by a rich caramel base and a medium body.  A very special release and available for the first time on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend.  Drink to honor “Ma” and reflect on those recently lost, but never to be forgotten. If not, you’ll get the paddle.

METACOGNITION (Farmhouse Ale - 6.8% ABV) -Metacognition is our ‘base’ Farmhouse Ale.  Its arrival marks the commencement of mindful learning, exploration, and attunement in the art of Saison at Tree House Brewing Company.  Brewed with Pilsner and Wheat malts and free rise fermented with a blend of classic Belgian Yeast, it pours with a thick, voluminous head and emanates spicy phenolic aromas along with subtle impressions of pineapple and citrus.  The flavor follows suit with further notes of spice, peeled lemon, and light tangerine.  It’s superbly attenuated, leaving the finish dry and refreshing, begging to be enjoyed on a hot summer day.

OLD MAN (Special Bitter - 5.4% ABV) -  This beer is crafted in honor of our head brewer's father, Dan.  He's a fan of English Ales and we brewed this beer to be an approachable, quaffable alternative to the more pungent Tree House offerings.  This beer is an hommage to a great man - and fathers everywhere.  It is rich, malty, and balanced by a kiss of earthy European  hops. 

PERCOLATION (Coffee Stout - 7.3%) - The base of this beer was brewed to be a sweet, less roasty stout in order to complement a hefty infusion of Guatamala Finca El Injerto coffee freshly roasted by Stumptown Coffee Roasters.  We love coffee, and this stout aims not to be subtle, but vibrant and bold in its presentation of the roasted bean.  With notes of chocolate, earth, and cognac, this beer is a decadent, complex treat for any lover of coffee!  A lovely beer, and one we are quite proud of.

SNOWTOBER (American Porter - 6.4%) - We originally brewed this beer on October 29th, 2011 - the evening of the fateful October snowstorm that devastated much of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts with wet early season snow.  Given the circumstances, we crafted Snowtober to be a perfect companion to an evening snowed in.  A chewy mouthfeel accompanies notes of chocolate, brown sugar, and dark roast coffee, as hints of nutty earthiness dance on the palate throughout.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID (Milk Stout - 5.6% ABV) - A sneakily complex beer, "TWSS" exhibits flavors of milk chocolate, fresh roasted coffee, caramel, and even a hint of smoke. It is absolutely loaded with flavor for a 5.6% beer, and the inclusion of Lactose takes the edge off of the dry, roasty notes found in a typical stout. The adult chocolate milk shake. . . soft, creamy, and luscious while maintaining supreme drinkability - just the way we like it!   A beer that is notorious for converting ‘pale’ beer lovers to the dark side!

TORNADO (American Pale Ale - 5.6%) - Our modern take on an American Pale Ale features six hop varieties balanced by a crisp malt bill of pale and caramel malts.  The beer is complexly aromatic, supremely hoppy, dry, and thirst-quenching.  Notes of grapefruit dance with notes of pine on the tongue before a firm citric bitterness finishes things off.  A Tree House classic and the first release of many.

TRUTH (Imperial Stout - 12.3% ABV) - For over a year anyone who poked their head into the garage on East Hill road where we previously brewed saw a few barrels of Imperial Stout collecting dust in the corner. . . We’re happy to say that content of those barrels is here for you today to enjoy! Truth, as we call it, was brewed in February of 2014 and aged for over a year in Kentucky Bourbon barrels.  What went into the barrel as an innocent but  decadent Imperial Stout emerged as an astonishing treat that tastes much like a bourbon soaked chocolate bar.  Our patience was rewarded with a beer whose flavors are extremely well integrated.   We taste sweet dark fruit, bourbon  chocolate candy, molasses, toffee, vanilla, cocoa, hints of honey. . Please drink slowly and allow the complexities to reveal themselves as it warms. . . A small and hopefully pleasant glimpse into the Tree House barrel program!

SPACE & TIME (Imperial Stout - 8.8% ABV ) - The first in a line of Tree House Imperial Stouts.  Big & bold with notes of roast, smoke, and bitter dark chocolate, this stout, brewed with a complex variety of pale and dark malt, will leave a lasting impression.  A touch of dark fruit-like sweetness greets the palate as it warms before a sharp balancing bitterness finishes things off courtesy of a generous kettle addition of Magnum hops.  Best enjoyed at 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
